Fore Friends Golf Outing Raises Almost $15,000
The Fifth Annual Fore Friends Golf Outing on July 17 had the largest turnout and raised the most money to date. Despite cool rainy weather, 96 golfers turned out for the nine hole event at Yahara Hills Golf Course, followed by dinner at Harley Davidson Banquet Hall. Anne Connor’s team won with a score of 32 which is 4 under the par of 36.
Congratulations to Lisa Roscoe who won the three-day stay at the Island View Lodge. Thanks to The Conger Collection, whose donation of this raffle prize helped raise over $1400.Money raised by past golf outings provided outdoor playground equipment at Allied Learning Center, indoor playground equipment at MSCR, and helped fund after school programs at several area schools. Proceeds from this year’s event will help fund similar programs in the coming year.
Many silent auction items were donated by local businesses, MSCR staff, and Friends of MSCR board members, including gift cards to local restaurants, free rounds of golf, and sky box tickets to UW women’s basketball.
