SUMMER 2012 JOB OPENINGS:
Recreation Inclusion Staff-Substitute (5)
$10.40/hour
6/11/2012 – 7/27/2012 (Limited positions end August 17th)
Mandatory paid training June 11-15th
Part-time: Substitute basis, approximate hours: 11:30am – 4:30 pm, some full-time hours available
Assist with the inclusion of youth with disabilities in inclusive summer programs and recreational activities. Provide accommodations and collaborate with program staff to ensure active participation of all participants. Duties include providing support to individuals with disabilities, planning and leading activities, supervising indoor and outdoor activities, and communicating with parents and supervisors. Inclusion staff typically works in a group setting, supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, Cognitive disabilities, etc. Primary placement is in Elementary (PK-5) afternoon program.
Hours of work: Typically M-F 11:30-4:30pm, some positions 7:30am-5:30pm, substitute basis, no guarantee of hours
Total hours of work per week: 25 (some limited positions 40)
Required knowledge, skills & abilities: Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or experience with inclusive recreation programming preferred. Experience providing behavioral modifications and support a plus. Must have proven dependability, teamwork, ability to make necessary accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and readiness to actively participate in all aspects of the program. Desired qualifications: CPR and First Aid certification a plus. Managing Threatening Confrontations training, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention training and the like are a plus.
Other information: Must attend paid training June 11-15, 2012.
