High School Afterschool Clubs

High School Programs are comprehensive afterschool programs for high school students. Students can get homework help, explore hobbies and develop skills.

Clubs: A variety of interest based activities held from school dismissal until 5:30 pm at each high school. Clubs vary based on student interest.

Extramurals: Team sports practice once a week afterschool and compete on Saturdays. Extramurals focus on participation and sportsmanship. Participants can register as part of a team or as an individual. Contact MSCR staff at your school

Leaders in Training (also know as Junior Leader Job Training Program)

This is a great way for high schoolers to get a summer job! Applications are typically due around February 1. Successful applicants go through an extensive training program provided by MSCR, UW-Extension, Edgewood College, MATC and the UW.

Upon successful completion of the training program, students are placed in a paid summer position within one of MSCR’s summer elementary programs. Trainings are held on Saturdays mid-March to early May. Applications are available at MSCR, as well as each high school’s guidance office. Contact MSCR Rec. Specialist for current application dates.
