MSCR offers afterschool programs at MMSD high schools.
Afterschool programs are open to all students in a school’s attendance area even if they don’t attend MMSD for school.
Clubs
A variety of interest based activities are held afterschool at each comprehensive high school. Clubs vary based on student interest and staff availability.
Extramural Sports Leagues
Team sports practice once a week afterschool and compete on Saturdays. The focus is on participation and sportsmanship. Participants can register as part of a team or as an individual. Contact MSCR staff at your school
Leaders in Training
This is a great way for high schoolers to get a summer job! Applications are typically due around February 1. Successful applicants go through an extensive training program.
Upon successful completion of the training program, students are placed in a paid summer position within one of MSCR’s summer elementary programs. Trainings are held afterschool and Saturdays mid-March to early May. Applications are available at the MSCR offices as well as each high school’s guidance office. Contact MSCR Recreation Specialist for current application dates.
