Swim Instructor
Program Description:
MSCR offers swim instruction to participants of all ages, infants through adults, following the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim standards.
Job Description & Duties:
Create and implement appropriate structured swim instruction to all participants, infants through adults.
Lead teach a class of 7-10 participants, depending on experience and/or certifications with no additional assistance.
Observe and evaluate swimmers based on Red Cross standards.
- Locations East High, La Follette High, Lapham Elementary, Memorial High, West High
- Start Date 01/21/2024
- Hours a Week:
Up to 18.5 hours per week.
- Work Hours:
Nights and weekends available.
- Pay Rate:
$17-$19 per hour (19 if WSI certified).
- Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to comfortably swim 25 yards of all six strokes to a Level 4 standard.
At least two summer seasons OR one full school year of formal experience teaching lessons as a lead instructor (lesson planning, implementation, evaluation). - Preferred Qualifications:
Lifeguarding certification.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or previous knowledge of Red Cross curriculum. - Other Information:
